A. Eliot Shearer MD PhD is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School and an Attending Pediatric Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon) at Boston Children’s Hospital. His lab studies the genetics of hearing loss in humans using a variety of next-generation sequencing techniques including exome and genome sequencing. In addition, the lab studies the genetics of cochlear implant outcomes in children. The lab also works to understand the physiology of hearing through the study of mouse models of hearing loss.
