Paul and Cynthia Hanson Prize

Gabriel Alberts, G4 SHBT student, received the 2022-2023 “Paul and Cynthia Hanson Award”.

This award is presented annually, to acknowledge a Fellows’ exceptional contribution to the work of the GSAS Student Center. This student’s name is etched on a pewter bowl along with past winners and kept in the Center for visitors to admire.

Gabriel was recognized for being a wonderful collaborator and representative of the Fellows program. He advanced relationships with University offices and Student groups, including some brilliant programming within the Happy Hour series to curate the food, music, and decorations in accordance to specific cultural months. As an example, he worked diligently to find a nice offering of Native American wines for Native American Heritage Month. It’s these types of details and intentionality that go into hosting thoughtful celebrations. Gabriel’s level of commitment to Fellows programming has been very impressive, making sure that each event is well planned and well run and everything is well documented to critical knowledge is passed down to new Fellows.

Congratulations Gabriel on being the 2022-2023 Hanson Award winner! Your name is etched on the honorary bowl along with all the Fellows before you who dedicated so much love to the Center and GSAS Community.
